09/05/1834 Lloyd's List Sydney N.S.W. 9th Dec. " ANN JAMESON, Alexander from London was blown up and burnt to the water's edge at this port 30th ult. with about 200 tons of cargo on board; little of which is expected to be recovered excepting some iron. The hull and cargo were sold on 5th instant".
Ship wrecks of Port Jackson and the Sydney Region. Wooden snow brig, 237 tonnes. Built at Alloa, Scotland, 1831. While discharging cargo, destroyed by fire at Kings Wharf, 30 November 1833. A quantity of loose gunpowder in the hold blew up, having spilled from packages carried as cargo. Six lives were lost. |
