Disposal Detail
3/12/1867 The Shields Daily News. "The brig Jenny of Whitby, Captain Pratt, which went ashore at Whitburn Steel, broke up during Sunday night, and portions of the wreck washed towards Roker Sands. The vessel was in ballast, heading for the Tyne, and as soon as she was observed to strike the rocks, the Whitburn lifeboat crew pulled off to her and succeeded in safely landing all hands. The shipwrecked crew said they were misled by some lights. On Sunday night they were off Shields. The Jenny was the property of Mr Bovill, of Whitby."
