26/02/1849 Shipping and Mercantile Gazette reported – The “Margaret John”, Vincent arrive Falmouth on 24th February, picked up the crew of “British Queen”, Mercer, of Alloa from Palermo for Liverpool, abandoned by her crew on 2nd February and landed them at Gibraltar on 10th February.
