Vessel history
27/12/1860 Jersey Independent and Daily Telegraph reported The captain & crew of the Mary Wylie landed here (Dover Dec. 22nd.) having been in collision with the barque "West Indian". The "Mary Wylie" sank in three minutes, 15 miles west of Beachy Head.
The vessel was on route from Beaumaris, North Wales to Sunderland with a cargo of slate.
