11/10/1838, passed Farne Islands (Newcastle for Leith) but then missing. Presumed foundered in gale. All 22 (13 crew, 9 passengers) on board lost. Possible sighting of her foundering that evening off Spittal, Berwick Bay. 29/11/1838 some wreckage, probably of NORTHERN YACHT, washed up at Eyemouth. |
