3/1942 Requisitioned by Australian Government and loaned to the US Army as an accommodation ship; she was towed to different locations as required in Southwest Pacific Area.
1945 on return to Australia, she was in poor condition (with one boiler removed). Bay Steamers declined her redelivery. No buyer could be found and she was laid up
